Hawaii

We went to Waikiki on Oahu May 23 - 30 and took Tom's parents with us. We had a wonderful time although we all agreed that it was TOO SHORT! This is going to seem like a lot of pictures but, trust me when I tell you that this isn't even a quarter of the pictures we took!!!
These pictures alone tell the story of Alex and the beach... as soon as we got there he took off to the water - his feet rarely touching the ground!

but... he didn't venture too far past the shore!

a bathing beauty!!

a bathing beauty and her mama!

I was able to run a 5K with the kamaaina (locals) while we were there - this is the "after" picture. I thought it started at 7:30am but it started at 7:00. This was my first race that was chip timed and don't you know I had to pee so I started at least 3 minutes late. In the last half mile a kamaaina wahine (local girl) and I were going back and forth and when we saw the finish line she looked over at me and said, "Let's do this!" So we raced to the finish line high fiving as we crossed! That was probably my PR because with the late start I finished at 31:22. I need someone like that girl at the end of every race!

The sunbathing Bobowski's

The beach we went to was about a block from our condo with a great view of diamond head and Alex had a great little tree to climb!

I wish you could have seen Babcia and Dziadek (Grandma and Grandpa in Polish) playing with Alex on the beach! Did I mention that they are 81 and 91??? They played like children in the ocean! Splashing and laughing! It was just fun to watch!

Kate also loved the water!

and the sand...

Who knows maybe she'll be a lifeguard one day...

Baywatch has nothin' on her!!

The jacuzzi tub in the Master bathroom...

hanging out at the condo

Luckily, we've been to Hawaii a few times and have done most of the touristy stuff so we got to spend out time just hanging on the beach and we were able to meet up with some friends that live over there now. This is one of my roommates from Vail, Co. Janel. She and her husband Kevin live half a mile away from our condo!

And, these are the Frazier's - Corry, Kevin, Grace, Madeline, and Emma with me, Alex, and Kate. They are some of my MOST favorite people in the world! Corry, Kevin, and I were baptised together about 12 years ago and we have stayed close even though they have moved about 10 times since then!! Kevin is an MP stationed over at K - Bay. Corry is a professional photographer and she took our family picture while we were out there - look for it on your 2008 Christmas card! If you're planning a trip to Hawaii (at least for the next 3 years) Check out her website: www.corryfrazierphotography.ifp3.com And if you're not planning a trip to Hawaii - stay tuned - who knows where they will go next?

Alright - this is the end... the last few pictures...
Kate proves to be a daddy's girl! Our teeny wahine!

Not quite ready to go home...

Wiped out... on the plane home.

We're already planning our trip to Kaua'i but next year we'll stay for at least 10 days!!

May 2008

Here are a few cute pics from our most receont trip to Chuck E. Cheese... I love the look on Tom's face! 12 more years til Alex is really driving! Yikes!

15 more years til Kate is driving - legally anyway - she looks ready doesn't she?

Playing together in the yard... LOVE these moments!!

Ice Cream at the Del (Hotel Del Coronado)

Cozy after a tubby!!

Who knew water in the highchair tray could be SO MUCH FUN??!! The kitchen floor needed to be mopped anyway...

Too stinkin' cool...

Kate is ONE!!

The crown has been passed...

I can't believe my baby girl is ONE already!! She's so fun that the time is just flying! Here are a few pictures from Moonlight Beach. Isn't she beautiful!

Here are some pictures from her birthday party. We had about 40 of our closest friends over for the big day! It was a nice day we had the jumpy jump out and the kids played in the sandbox - it was a fun day! Kate really got into her cake! Alex wouldn't touch his (on his first birthday) but, Kate dug right in!

Alex questioned, "We share everything, right?" before tearing into her presents!!

Poor thing - barely got any presents!!

60 miles in 3 days!

In November I will be walking 60 miles in 3 days in support of those who have been affected by breast cancer. No one in my immediate family or group of friends has battled it yet. Statistics say that 1 in 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer though so I figure it really is just a matter of time. I pray that there will be a cure for this invasive disease before my kids grow up. I didn't think 60 miles in 3 days was really that big of a deal until Tom put it in perspective by saying, "That is almost a marathon 3 days in a row!" I said, "Yea, but I'm walking not racing!" Then, he said, "It's like walking from our house to Sea World - 3 days in a row. Like walking from our house to Rosarito Beach, Mexico or north to Huntington Beach!" My mom said, "That is like walking from our house (in Johnston) to Tammy's house (in Aiken), walking back to our house and then back to Tammy's house!" Oh and did I mention that I'll be CAMPING at nite. In a PINK tent! Now, you guys know I am not a camper. I don't even sleep well in a hotel. So this is big! I have also agreed to raise $2500 for the honor of walking 60 miles in 3 days. If you'd like to help support me by making a tax deductible donation please click on the link below to visit my breast cancer 3 Day webpage. 85% of the net proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation, the world's largest and most progressive grassroots network fighting to end breast cancer. 15% of the net proceeds will benefit the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund, a special field of interest fund that will provide support for breast cancer initiatives including research, treatment, prevention and education.
